This technology startup was in need of naming and brand identity. The name investigation led to forming hybrids of descriptor words using the least number of URL letters, then identifying which best word-concepts reflected the company’s intellectual approach to product development and distribution. Anilect resulted from combining analyze with intellect.
The goal in brand naming is uniqueness and connection to class of trade. A brand name must also perform viably on the Web and in social media.
Because Anilect does not adhere to a specific electronic product class, the brand needed to function for a broad spectrum of targets, from consumer packaged products through industrial and scientific technologies.
Simple geometric shapes were used, inspired by famous audio and music publishing iconography of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, but the brand application had to read unquestionably 21st century.
