Dear Females by Ellen E. Rand

Ellen Rand is a painter and originator of Art 101 in Williamsburg, a beloved art destination by New Yorkers for decades. She researched and wrote Dear Females about her grandmother, Ellen G. Emmet, and her great aunts, all who had with prolific art careers in the USA and Europe through the first half of the 20th century. Much of the book is made up of correspondence among the women, often beginning the letters with the salutation, dear females.
