Drawing people while commuting is especially useful to pass time, because I find myself in the subway for long hours each day. In one respect, it is amazing to see the variety of New York City Commuters. On the other hand, now that the Metro is equipped with WiFi, I have hundreds of drawing of people looking at their phones, even if they’re couples and they have children.

So I began to imagine these phone-fixated individuals in scenarios of nature, not human, but almost human, yet still fixated on something. Thus the subway sketches became the basis of a series of painting.
