The brand identity and work project concepts in journal 13 are randomly interrupted by subway sketches and painting concepts along with some to product ideas. The first spread, for instance, shows a toss-toy that leaves a trail of bubbles in its wake. This idea came from my exploration of flying cards for Kite and Rocket, also shown here.
Some of the painting concepts originate in religious iconography. This is an extension of my mom’s work in recreating Byzantine icons of saints and angels, plentifully represented in her Orthodox religion.
